Europe

These photos are from a trip to Europe with my grandparents when I was barely a teen. We flew into Frankfurt, and then took a train to Paris to pick up our touring car, a little red French Simca. After a bit of sightseeing we drove back into Germany, then visited Switzerland, Austria, and Northern Italy before going up to Holland and its neighbors. My grandfather was an amateur covered bridge researcher, and to visit a number of them we traveled through countryside that was well off the beaten path, through old medieval towns and up remote Alpine valleys.

These pictures were scanned from 35-year-old slides that were showing their age and in no particular order. Since I couldn't identify some of them exactly after all these years I've grouped them here thematically.

Paris and Versailles

Backroads Europe

Towns and Villages

The Alps and Highlands

Madurodam, Holland

The Low Countries

These pictures were scanned from 35 year old slides. I believe I was using an old hand-me-down Minolta camera at the time, but at this point I couldn't be more specific.
