I visited shanghai for three grey, misty days at the end of my hong kong visit. I had imagined it would be a quaint seaport, and found it instead to be a huge, sprawling metropolis that just seemed to go on forever. my hosts and I also took the opportunity to take a leisurely drive to its nearest neighbor to the west, suzhou, a city laced with canals and rivers. |
