West Coast, Cascades, Santa Fe

These images are from another vacation out west spent flying with Dave Katz. After I arrived in San Francisco, he and I flew down the coast to Big Sur, then up to visit friends in Portland, Oregon. We flew back down the inland side of the Cascade Mountain Range to Watsonville, CA, and from there drove down to spend a couple days in Big Sur.

Later in the week we went out to Santa Fe, NM, where we did a few afternoon flights. A cancelled airline connection from Santa Fe to Denver gave us the opportunity to take a quick trip up to Denver in his plane, in time for me to catch my flight home.

These pictures were all taken with a Nikon Coolpix 950, my first digital camera. A few of the images were taken using the standard lens, but almost all of the aerial shots were done with the optional wide-angle lens converter.

If you look close (especially on the aerial shots) you'll see plenty of window reflections, bug smears, and artifacts from being in the wrong place vis a vis the sun. C'est la vie...
